I have a laptop. When I bring it on the road, it’s great to have a screen. When I’m at home, I do not want to be looking down on my screen. There are several reasons why that’s really bad including posture, eye contact with the screen and so forth.
The solution is to bring the laptop screen at eye’s level so it would be easier to work on a desk. Also, it will allow air to circulate beneath the system to keep the system cool.
Enter: The Griffin Elevator
More after the jump
Despite it’s lame name, the Elevator does the job. It elevates the laptop to a eye level while giving plenty of room underneathe the system for air to circulate.
However, the Elevator DOES NOT adjust to different elevations (like an elevator should do). It’s one height only is a good and bad thing.
- Good in the sense that it makes the aluminium solid and putting my Macbook on top, it seems like very sturdy.
- At the expense of sturdiness, creating adjustable levels would probably make this not as sturdy.
The black rubber on top of the prongs (as seen in the picture) provides traction for the laptop. I first had doubts about it, but the more I put my laptop on top, the more I feel like it was a geniunely good product.
It’s pretty simple to put this together. Put the two prons in between the plastic piece. Done.
It’s collapsibility is nice too, so it’s definitely wise to keep the box around.
Good:
- Sturdy, and solid: won’t flaily around
- Industrial design makes this very attractive looking
- Easy to setup
Bad:
- Not adjustable height. Won’t be great for bigger screen laptop or height of the desk
